LSP Alumni Council Meeting
Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at 6pm
Macayo's Depot Cantina on Ash in Tempe

In attendance: Jonell, Dusty, Julie, Hayley, Eddie, Nikki, Amy, Greg, Ryan, Missy, and Don.

I. ASU Campus Update (Amy Castro)

II. Treasurer’s Report
a. Operating Account Balance at Sunrise Bank of Arizona, $375
b. Budget Funds from CACO and operating funds from Alumni Association
• Our chapter was allotted $700 basic allocation, plus $1,800 in supplemental allocation, which equals $2,500.
c. Fund raising activities

III. Spring Updates
a. Scholarship – Eddie reported that a lot of qualified candidates applied. After reviewing all applications Dorothy Rice was awarded the CKW scholarship.
b. Wine tasting – Jonell reported that the 2005 event was successful; the event set a new attendance record. After some discussion about improving it going forward there were some ideas of a new venue and moving it back to April. It was mentioned that the LSP seniors have happy hour events on Thursday’s and the LSP Alum event could be held in conjunction with the final happy hour of the year. As the event continues to grow we are on our way of establishing a traditional spring time event. There were a good mix of students, staff, and alums. Next year we hope to market the event to more Alums.
c. Mentor meeting - After discussing this event, it was suggested that the meeting be held in October to give the students and mentors more time during the year. The February meeting conflicted with a few other events on campus and not all of the current students could attend. It was agreed and the meeting will be held during the October 4th LSP meeting. The recent grads suggested that we need more variety of professions on the alum panel.

IV. Fall Updates
a. Homecoming Game - Will be October 29, 2005
b. Reunion Event - Will be held on October 28, 2005
i. As far as everyone knows Dr. Rund will fund the event again this year.
ii. Amy spoke with the new Catering Manager at the Mission Palms to confirm the Abby room. She expects the contracts later this week.
iii. We are targeting 100 people at the event.
iv. Make sure the current students know they are welcome.
c. Homecoming Booth - We will speak with Hope or Sara and check into combining the LSP booth with the Advocate or other student organizations. There is a lot of overlap and a combined tent might bring even more Alums together.

V. Membership
a. Update web site with dates
• Due to the ongoing cost of hosting the Website we might move it to Yahoo groups or another similar service.

• September 10 & 11, 2005 – Student retreat at Camp Shadow Pines.
• October 9, 2005 - Mentor meeting
